Over the past few weeks, in recognition for their individual roles each played in representing Canada and Her Majesty’s Canadian Armed Forces at the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In the absence of a National Platinum Jubilee Medal, it was felt that those who played a direct role in Operation London Bridge, be recognized with this final honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
This was the final medal approved by Her late Majesty, and is the last official honor created bearing HER effigy and Royal Cypher. Four members received the Saskatchewan medal and one member the Nova Scotia medal. We thank the Department of National Defense for this recognition.
Congratulations everyone and thank you for representing the Regiment at the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Colonel-in-Chief of The Canadian Grenadier Guards.
