The Canadian Grenadier Guards Foundation is not just one of the elements of our Regimental Institutions, it is an active and key organization assisting in the success of our Active Battalion. As the Lieutenant-Colonel Commanding the CGG Foundation does not only provide me financial aid, they also provide me with advice and support on the ideas and projects brought forward. They have supported all my requests which always have the same aim and focus … our soldiers. Doing things differently or coming up with new ideas which will help with both the retention and the training of our Grenadiers is my responsibility, the Foundation is always there to assist in making those ideas into reality. Funding for the purchasing of Airsoft weapons and equipment is one such project which allows us to provide in house training which improves the basic soldiering skills of our troops but also provides new and exciting training which increases the retention of our soldiers. Working together in this type of a partnership with the CGG Foundation is crucial for the success of the Active Battalion and thus for the Regiment as a whole.
