Jack Reggler was a veteran of the 22 CAR.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>They did not falter, they made no sound<br \/>\nWhen their bodies fell to the ground<br \/>\nThey were young, they were innocent and brave<br \/>\nToday they lie in a foreign grave<\/p>\n<p>They gave their lives so others could be free<br \/>\nNo cross on their graves because they died at sea<br \/>\nThey cross the waters always in fear<br \/>\npraying quietly that no U-boat was near<\/p>\n<p>They go in their planes with a wave good-bye<br \/>\nFlying to protect in the sky<br \/>\nThey met the enemy they gave them chase<br \/>\nWith many of our planes not returning to base<\/p>\n<p>We should always remember those that died in wars<br \/>\nOn the sea, in the water and on foreign shores<br \/>\nLet\u2019s hope and pray that it never happens again<br \/>\nWe will meet again, don\u2019t know where don\u2019t know when<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Our history is full of great stories, one such\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><b><i>is.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>William Reggler wrote, &#8216;In my dad&#8217;s &#8211; Jack Reggler memory book, he wrote, &#8216;once a Guardsman, always a Guardsman&#8217; I can think of no better words to express our love for Captain Jerry Fogerty &#8211; RSM of the Canadian Grenadiers and 1st Commanding Officer of the Guards Cadet Company.\u00a0 Willaim (Bill) Reggler, was also known as one of the &#8216;Mess Brats&#8217; from the 50&#8217;s and 60&#8217;s Guards.<\/p>\n<p>My dad Jack Reggler had so much respect for his Regimental Sergeant-Major and indeed this respect was passed onto Bill, John and Jim Reggler who were all members of the Guards Cadet Company # 2709&#8242;.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Reggler family continues to this day supporting the 2709 Guards Cadet Company.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Act of Remembrance They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old, Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
