DESCRIPTION:All members of the Regimental Family are cordiality invite to Join the Serving Battalion this coming weekend at two activities: \nThe 34 Canadian Brigade Group Remembrance Parade at Place du Canada in Downtown Montréal; \nPlease arrive no later than 10H45 on Saturday morning the 11th of November joining our regiment as it leads the parade. \nFollowing the parade\, please gather for a few words of remembrance and an official Regimental picture. \nRemembrance Day 2022 Regimental Picture Place du Canada\n  \nAt the cenotaph West Island Montreal November 3\, 2023\nRegimental Church Parade: \nEach year the Regiment continues to follow a long standing tradition\, will march to our Regimental Church\, Christ Church Cathedral\, Montreal\, Quebec  Honouring the memory of our veterans and fallen comrades. An opportunity as a Regimental Family to be together at this solemn time of the year. \nChrist Church Cathedral\, 635 Saint-Catherine Street West\, Montreal\, QC H3A2B8\nFor members of the Regimental Family who cannot be with us in person the service will be live streamed at \nmontrealcathedral.ca/live \nVeterans\, who wish to lead the parade are asked to arrive at the Home Station no later than 08H30 to be bussed to the start of the parade.  Jacket and Regimental Tie. \nDue to the heavy construction around McGill University\, the Regiment will gather in front of Le Régiment de Maisonneuve\, 691 Rue Cathcart\, Montréal\, QC H3B 1M6\, and march the very short distance to Christ Church Cathedral. \nEveryone is asked to be seated no later than 10H15.  The Remembrance Service Honouring the memory of our veterans and fallen comrades commence at 10H30 sharp. \nFollowing the service transportation will be made available for the Serving members of the JF Young\, VC Mess and members of the Association for a service at the cemetery.  Following the service transportation will be provided back to the Home Station where respective messes will be opened. \nWe look forward to seeing everyone at the two events. \nRemembrance service following the battle of Vimy Ridge WWI\nHand painted art work in the Museum by Mrs. Gertrude Antoine Barwick.\nColour Party 2022 at the Cathedral.\nThe Roving Guardsman.

DESCRIPTION:BREAKING NEWS\nPOSTPONEMENT OF THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY PARADE.\n\nThe Lieutenant-Colonel Commanding\, Lieutenant-Colonel Jose Nuñez\, MMM\, CD\, AdeC\, has just concluded discussions with Mayor Jeremy Levi\, of the Town of Hampstead and with his approval there will be a change to the date FOR THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY PARADE from 27th of August to the 22nd of October 2023.\nWe apologize for this inconvenience to everyone.  Due to a variety of factors outlined below\, both for the Regiment and the Town of Hampstead\, have agreed to push the date of this event to the 22nd of October 2023.\nThe Town of Hampstead has undertaken major road work this summer repairing their water mains throughout the city.\nThe construction work is experiencing minor delays which has resulted in delays with limited access to many of the roads that would be used for the parade route.\nFor the Regiment\, the availability of troops following the end of summer tasks along with the return to school and a potential domestic deployment on the continued efforts assisting with Forest Fires has greatly limited our resources.\nAt this time\, no other changes are envisioned and the details for the parade remain the same with of course a new date are noted below.\n\nPlease continue to stay tuned to this event site for any future updates issued. \nWe look forward to your attendance and participation. \nSunday October 22nd\, 2023\,13h00 FREEDOM OF THE CITY PARADE\n \n13h00 – Ceremony at Town Hall\n13h30 – Arrival Hampstead Park \nVIP Reviewing Stand / March Past 14h00 \nFollowed by a \nReception 15h00 at\nIrving Adessky Community Center\nR.S.V.P. SUMMARY:CGG Remembrance Weekend Activities\, November 11th to November 13th\, 2022
DESCRIPTION:The Lieutenant-Colonel Commanding and the Regimental Sergeant-Major look forward to seeing everyone once again as the Regiment marks the act of Remembrance during the month of November.  This year the Regiment will support and host a series of Remembrance Day Activities on November 11\, 12\, and 13 respectively. \nPlease advise\, regimental.events@cgg.ca if you will be participating in the following events noted below\, \nSaturday morning Memorial Service of Remembrance\, \nSaturday afternoon Museum special presentation\, \nSunday if you are marching with the regiment on parade\, attending the service at the Cathedral\, Sunday JF Young VC gathering and if you are dropping by for lunch.  We need to ensure the proper resources in place for success. \nFriday morning\, November 11th\, 2022\, The Regiment will stand-up a 50-person guard and take part in the annual ceremony with the Royal Canadian Legion\, and all units in the Montreal area.   Everyone is invited to participate as spectators in remembrance of our fallen Comrad’s.  The parade will take place at Place du Canada and spectators are asked to arrive for 10:30hrs\, the ceremony commences with the arrival of the parade at 10:45hrs. \nFriday evening\, November 11th\, 2022\, join the Association and members of the Serving Battalion for a pub night!  Open to all.  At the time of this posting location and time has not been released.  The Association will announce both the location and time via Facebook on their link. \nCanadian Grenadier Guards Association | Facebook \nSaturday morning\, November 12th\, 2022\, all members of the Association and their families are invited to join the Serving Battalion on the parade square in a Memorial Service of Remembrance.  The Memorial Service will take place between 10:00hrs and 12:00hrs. \nSaturday afternoon\, November 12th\, 2022\, all members of the Association\, Friends of the Regiment and their families are invited to join the Museum in a special presentation by Michel Gravel\, an Author and Historian focusing on WWI.  His presentation will be on the battles of the Arras-Cambrai Road\, France\, 1918.  With a particular focus on the 87th Battalion (The Canadian Grenadier Guards).  The presentation starts at 13:30hrs.  Questions are welcome. \nSaturday evening\, November 12th\, 2022\, the Annual Sergeants Mess Remembrance Day Dinner\, please click on this link for more details: \nSergeants’ Mess Remembrance Day Dinner 2022- Reservation Instructions are noted below. – The Canadian Grenadiers Guards (cgg.ca) \nSunday morning\, November 13th\, 2022\, reinforcing our links with our Regimental Church\, Christ Church Cathedral\, the entire Regimental Family\, spouses\, children and friends\, are invited to join in an official service of remembrance.  Everyone is asked to be seated no later than 10:15hrs sharp inside the Cathedral. \nVeterans and members of the Association who wish to lead the Regiment to the Cathedral\, on parade\, are asked to arrive at the Home Station for 09:00hrs.  A bus for those who will be on parade will take participants to the parade start off point.  Due to the major construction around the downtown core near the Cathedral this location will be determined on Sunday morning.  Dress for the Veterans and members of the Association is Jacket and Regimental Tie\, Medals and Beret can be worn. \nSunday morning\, November 13th\, 2022\, following the Service of Remembrance at the Cathedral\, Serving Members of the JF Young VC Club\, Veterans and members of the Association will be transported to the grave site of JF Young VC for the traditional gathering in his memory. \nImmediately following this gathering upon return to the Home Station\, a light lunch will be served in respective Messes.  All are welcome to join\, including family members and friends who joined us this day. \nThank you everyone for your support over the past few days we look forward to seeing everyone. \nBelow are a couple of pictures from the 2021 Remembrance Weekend.

SUMMARY:CGG Annual Golf Day
DESCRIPTION:Organized by the CGG Association\, this year’s golf tournament was held at the beautiful Hudson Golf and Curling Club. Scorching heat but plenty of refreshments were consumed! \nA wonderful day on the course and the 19th hole was very relaxing as well\, with an excellent dinner\, many prizes\, and short speeches.
