The main ceremony took place at Saint Mary`s and All Saints Church in front of the Angel of Peace Statue where an engraved paving stone

had been embedded at the foot of the statue. The Mayor of Kidderminster and Councilor of Wayne Forest District attended and the Canadian Embassy and High Commission were represented, as well as a high number of local veterans lead by the leadership of the Mercian Volunteers Regimental Association who coordinated the efforts of everyone involved to make this day a memorable one indeed.  

The Mercian Regimental Association members did an outstanding job and certainly made us very comfortable in our new surroundings for the short time we were in Kidderminster. The Canadian and CGG  Regimental flags were flying and the Mercian`s will hoist the CGG Regimental Flag every 02 Sept in honor of JF Young VC.
